This Extended Solution to the standard MAS 90 MAS 200 Sales Order module adds the ability to specify on a Customer level whether or not backorders are allowed.

The Custom Office module must be Activated in order for this Extended Solution to function.

Before installing any Extended Solution, please verify that the version level referenced on your installation file is the same version level as your Sage 100 (MAS 90 MAS 200) installation. (For more information please call (800) 425-9843). It is recommended to have a complete and tested backup prior to installing any application on your Sage 100 (MAS 90 MAS 200) platform.

Extended Solutions Control Center

Installing any Extended Solution will add an Extended Solutions Control Center to the Sage 100 (MAS 90 MAS 200) Library Master Utilities menu. When you open the Control Center, the following options will be available:

  • Merge Installation Files
  • Extended Solutions Setup options

Custom Office

If you customize your Sage 100 (MAS 90 MAS 200), then you must run the Update Utility every time you install this Extended Solution.

Upon completion of software installation, you will need to access Extended Solutions Setup from the Sales Order Setup menu. Select this part number, and the Setup screen for this Extended Solution will appear (Figure 1). Check the ‘Enable Extended Solution’ box to activate this Extended Solution.

Answer the following prompt:

A/R CUSTOMER UDF FOR ‘ACCEPT BACKORDERS’: Specify a check box type Accounts Receivable Customer UDF to indicate whether or not a Customer accepts backorders.

You should visit this Setup screen after each upgrade or reinstallation of this Extended Solution.

During Sales Order and Sales Order Invoice Entry, when a positive Backorder quantity is created, the program will check the UDF specified in Setup to determine if the particular Customer accepts backorders. If the UDF value is unchecked an on-screen message will appear: ‘Customer does not accept back orders. Continue? (Yes, No, All)’ (Figure 2).

SO-1269 Customer Msg

If you answer ‘No,’ the quantity backordered for the line will be set to zero. If you answer ‘Yes,’ the backorder amount calculates normally. If you answer ‘All,’ the quantity backordered for the line will be set to zero, and all subsequently accessed lines on the order will default to zero without the appearance of this prompt.

The message will also display in Sales Order Shipping Data Entry when you key in a Quantity Shipped that is less than the Quantity Ordered, or when you click the ‘Back Ordered’ button.

What’s New

With the 7-12-06 release:

  • Converted to Business Framework.
  • Setup option changed from an AR-1080 UDF to a Custom Office UDF.

Upgrades and Compatibility

The installation CD is labeled with the version of the MAS 90 MAS 200 module for which this Extended Solution was prepared. This Extended Solution will check its compatibility with the appropriate MAS 90 MAS 200 modules and will be disabled if an incompatibility is found. If you upgrade your MAS 90 MAS 200 modules, this Extended Solution must be upgraded as well. Your MAS 90 MAS 200 dealer can supply this upgrade.
