Synopsis

This Custom Solution to the Job Cost module affects the way inventory items are priced for a customer. This Custom Solution allows each job that has inventory items issued to it to have its own pricing methodology by having the items priced using Retail, Standard, Sales Order or the normal Job Cost Price.

Installation

Before installing any Custom Solution, please verify that the version level referenced on your installation file is the same version level as your Sage 100 (MAS 90 MAS 200) installation. (For more information please call (800) 425-9843). It is recommended to have a complete and tested backup prior to installing any application on your Sage 100 (MAS 90 MAS 200) platform.

Custom Solutions Control Center

Installing any Custom Solution will add an Custom Solutions Control Center to the Sage 100 (MAS 90 MAS 200) Library Master Utilities menu. When you open the Control Center, the following options will be available:

  • Merge Installation Files
  • Custom Solutions Setup options

Custom Office

If you customize your Sage 100 (MAS 90 MAS 200), then you must run the Update Utility every time you install this Custom Solution.

Setup

Upon completion of software installation, you will need to access the Job Cost Setup menu option screen. After the standard MAS 90 MAS 200 option screens have been displayed, a Setup screen for this Extended Solution will appear. Check the ‘Enable Extended Solution’ box to activate this Extended Solution (Figure 1).

You should visit this Setup screen after each upgrade or reinstallation of this Custom Solution.

Operation

Once this Extended Solution is installed and enabled, all jobs will be setup to use normal pricing procedures for Inventory items. Click the ‘More...’ button on the Job Masterfile Maintenance Main tab (Figure 2) to change the Pricing Method you wish to use to Normal Job Cost Price, Retail, Standard, or Sales Order (Figure 3).

Based on the option selected, the standard job cost price would be overridden with the Retail, Standard or Sales Order price when the issued item is billed during normal Job Cost Billing.

When Using Sales Order Pricing
If you elect to use Sales Order pricing, the same hierarchy used by Sales Order (i.e., Contract Pricing, Item Pricing, Price Code Pricing) will be employed during the billing. When determining the hierarchy for Sales Order Pricing, the Customer Number used will be the one referenced for the job and the Price level will be the one referenced in the Customer Masterfile. As is true with Sales Order, if no other pricing method is setup for an item, this Extended Solution will use an item's Standard Price when billed.

Helpful Hints

  • Make sure the cost type is set up to be billed in detail.
  • The cost code / cost type on the job needs to be billable using the bill method ‘Unit Price.’
  • The bill method on the job needs to be Time and Material.
  • This Extended Solution only affects the pricing of I/M items issued from inventory, not items received through P/O.


Visual Integrator

The files listed below have been added or changed in the Data Dictionary by this Extended Solution for Visual Integrator purposes.

The Data Dictionary may contain other files and data fields that are not available without their corresponding Extended Solutions installed.

Crystal Reports and the ODBC Dictionary

The files listed below have been added or changed in the Crystal Dictionaries by this Extended Solution for Crystal Reports purposes. Any additions or changes to the Crystal Dictionaries will be incorporated into your system after you set up the Extended Solution or when you use the Star Part (*PART) option from a menu.

Be aware that the Crystal Dictionaries may contain other files and data fields that will be unavailable without their corresponding Extended Solutions installed.

Upgrades and Compatibility

The installation CD is labeled with the version of the MAS 90 MAS 200 module for which this Extended Solution was prepared. This Extended Solution will check its compatibility with the appropriate MAS 90 MAS 200 modules and will be disabled if an incompatibility is found. If you upgrade your MAS 90 MAS 200 modules, this Extended Solution must be upgraded as well. Your MAS 90 MAS 200 dealer can supply this upgrade.


Documentation

Only changes made by Blytheco, LLC to the standard operation of Sage Software, Inc. MAS 90 MAS 200 have been documented in this manual. Operations not documented in this manual are standard procedures of MAS 90 MAS 200 processing. Standard MAS 90 MAS 200 processes, data entry screens, inquiry screens, reports, updates, etc., have not been changed unless addressed in this document.

Parts of this document may refer to the Specific Purpose Rule. When referenced, the described feature was developed for a specific client to its specifications and may not conform to generally accepted MAS 90 MAS 200 standards and procedures. These features may or may not benefit you in your application of MAS 90 MAS 200.
