From BlythecoDev Wiki

Jump to: navigation, search

This Extended Solution enhances the Custom Office module by adding the ability to specify a User Defined Field as one of the following standard MAS 90 MAS 200 data field types:

  • A/R Customer Number
  • A/P Vendor Number
  • G/L Account Number
  • Sales Order Number
  • Item Number
  • Sequence Number
  • Unique Sequence Number

You can also password-protect a UDF.

Before installing any Extended Solution, please verify that the version level referenced on your installation file is the same version level as your Sage 100 (MAS 90 MAS 200) installation. (For more information please call (800) 425-9843). It is recommended to have a complete and tested backup prior to installing any application on your Sage 100 (MAS 90 MAS 200) platform.

Extended Solutions Control Center

Installing any Extended Solution will add an Extended Solutions Control Center to the Sage 100 (MAS 90 MAS 200) Library Master Utilities menu. When you open the Control Center, the following options will be available:

  • Merge Installation Files
  • Extended Solutions Setup options

Custom Office

If you customize your Sage 100 (MAS 90 MAS 200), then you must run the Update Utility every time you install this Extended Solution.

Upon completion of software installation, you will need to access Extended Solutions Setup from the Custom Office Main menu. Select this part number, and the Setup screen for this Extended Solution will appear (Figure 1). Check the ‘Enable Extended Solution’ box to activate this Extended Solution.

You should visit this Setup screen after each upgrade or reinstallation of this Extended Solution.

Custom Office User Defined Field Maintenance has been modified with a new Object Type: ‘Special’ (Figure 2). When you select this type, you have the following options:

  • A/R Customer Number
  • A/P Vendor Number
  • G/L Account Number
  • Sales Order Number
  • Item Number
  • Sequence Number
  • Unique Sequence Number

When one of these Special types has been selected, the masking is set in accordance with the standard MAS 90 MAS 200 field’s size. The validation and lookup will be into the standard MAS 90 MAS 200 data file that was selected; therefore the validation options on the Validation tab will not be used.

When adding Special Type UDFs to a panel, the row height value must equal 1 for magnifying lookup button to appear.

G/L account UDFs will store the formatted account number.

Customer, Vendor and G/L Account type UDFs do not support renumber and merge functions. Furthermore, this Extended Solution does not support any changes to G/L account structure.

If you want to password-protect a UDF, check the ‘password’ field and enter a password (up to 10 characters). If you want to password-protect the entering of data in this field at all times, then check ‘Protect Blank Field.’ If you want to prompt for a password only when the UDF field being changed is not blank, leave it unchecked. “Protect Blank Field” are for non-Business Framework modules only.

Sequence Number
A sequence number is a zero-filled string field. A numeric Next Sequence Number must be defined in the ‘Default Value’ field (Figure 3).

A sequence number type UDF will have a ‘#’ button attached to it (Figure 4). Click the ‘#’ button to assign the next sequence number; the program will not validate that the value it placed in the UDF is unique at its time of entry when entered via the ‘#.’

Unique Sequence Number
This works as Sequence Number above. In addition, the program will validate that the value it placed in the UDF is unique at its time of entry when entered via the ‘#’ button.

  • Now supports entry of formatted G/L account number in business framework modules.

Support for the Sequence Number and Unique Sequence Number type UDFs has been added to the Visual Integrator Import of Sales Orders.

Upgrades and Compatibility

The installation CD is labeled with the version of the MAS 90 MAS 200 module for which this Extended Solution was prepared. This Extended Solution will check its compatibility with the appropriate MAS 90 MAS 200 modules and will be disabled if an incompatibility is found. If you upgrade your MAS 90 MAS 200 modules, this Extended Solution must be upgraded as well. Your MAS 90 MAS 200 dealer can supply this upgrade.
